huh... this is so much better than their 2nd album, they actually show personality here.
Every song is actually.... every song is fun. (I'm sorry)
The album is full of orchestration and a very theatrical sound, it's a very interesting sound and works really well. The writing is really good on this album too.

A very great start to one of my favorite bands. God, I wish they were still around. Anyways, back on track, this album has some incredible stand outs. There are some unfortunate boring songs here and there, and the album feels shorter than what it possibly could’ve been, but besides all that, this album is great. Definitely an album that I wouldn’t mind spinning one day to just vibe to.

While this album is far from perfect, it certainly captures your attention. The whole thing sounds like a theatre kid's wet dream, as Nate Ruess's high school-esque vocals pair well with horns and tons (and I mean tons) of harmonies. The inclusion of commonly used background vocals make Ruess sound like the lead role in a play, and a good one as well. Honestly, I don't give a shit what y'all think, this is one of the greatest baroque pop albums of all time.
