Drowned in Sound

As The D.O.T., the material on Diary has an honesty of its own, at times perfectly balancing Skinner and Harvey’s styles

If you are prepared to enter into the listening experience with open ears and an open mind then you will be rewarded with an album of remarkable completeness

The result is an album that is, for the most part, merely pleasant.  Given that it’s co-authored by a man who made some of the best, most distinctive music of the last decade, that’s a sizable shame.

The 405

Ultimately, the album comes and goes without leaving any real sort of impression, which can[t help but be disappointing coming half from a man whose 11-year-old debut album still inspires hushed and awed conversations.

‘Diary’, however, is easily the worst thing Skinner has ever released.
