A wholly inoffensive rock album. A blurred amalgamation of a bunch of rock influences, with standout tracks being far and few in between. An album that definitely talks over you instead of to you - the type of songs to come on in a pub and for a moment make you feel like shazaming them, but then you get distracted and never think about it again.

Good album from the overall impressive 90's alternative rock scene, but one that doesn't quite make itself special. Cake really was playing like the bands that also sounded like them at this time, and later crafted their sound to be more unique.

By using various elements and a disarming simplicity they come up with a pleasant rock mixture that will keep us good company.
