Perhaps writing modern pop music isn’t that complicated, after all; Sorry I Haven’t Called certainly makes the case that all the artist needs to do is head into the studio with the intention of enjoying themselves.
Sorry I Haven’t Called is a warm and inviting record, if not a particularly inventive one ... It’s a hooky, fun listen, there when you need to go out and dance or stay in and reflect.
Certainly, a great electropop album with tendencies toward alt-pop, some experimental productions, sprinkles of synthesizers throughout, all complemented by Vagabon's delightful voice and expert lyrics. It all culminates in a very contemporary album that is self-contained but doesn't seem to strive for perfection. It's dynamic, sophisticated, and well thought out.
