This album is a compilation of the band letting out their anger on each other with each thunderous beat and a summation of their hearts poured out and every ounce of energy exasperated.

Refused are pure innovation and passion spouting Nation of Ulysses-esque doctrine while fusing together the bite and flavor of fist-raised, Dillinger Escape Plan-style hardcore with ambient textures, jazz breakdowns, and other such deviations.

I was promised 12 bursts in my chimerical bombination, i got 11 and the feeling of my heart ripped out from anticipation and stress for the last bang, only to find out they went small and personal, in the best fucking way possible.

Never thought of myself for one to crown a Hardcore Punk album pure genius, but this just might be it.

Goddamn. I'm still recovering from the punch to the face that album was. After listening to Refused's latest record, I was thoroughly looking forward to what else the group would offer to the world of music. After all, nearly everyone and their mama has said this is the best thing in the world, and that it's the groups magnum opus. So, is it that good?

Refused proclaims a warmonger of an artistic statement; ramming down the confines of pure headass punk with rampaging intent to churn out something truly bewitching. It's quite the cheeky album headline indeed, even if it hadn't exactly paved the wave for the foreseeable direction as it proposes. But I digress? it's probably for the greater good or it's idiosyncrasy would've been at stake.
