Despite being incredibly slow and drawn out, not a second of this album is not beautiful, or engaging to some degree.

Red House Painter's debut is one of their best showing and one of the better Slowcore albums out their. With emotional lyrics which are just so utterly depressing but given in the mellow soundscape and some great introspection by Mark Kozelek, gives the lyrics a lot of edge in touching your heart but also making you connect it on an emotional level even if you never tried to learn English to Japanese or Japanese to English.
