Lee Hazlewood recorded this gem after he left the US for Sweden and he made with it this apocryphal film. The film is odd and I'm not crazy about it but this record kicks ass! "Pray them bars away" is an excellent song sung from the perspective of a prisoner doomed to a failed prison system. Politically it's very ahead of it's time. I love Lee (duh) but I can also admit that over his large discography of albums things can tend to be in general spotty. Every release has some absolutely amazing tunes mixed in with some stuff that can leave you scratching your head a bit.
From start to finish, Cowboy In Sweden is definitely one of his better albums. Druggy AM radio cowboy tunes, there is nothing else quite like it. Several of these songs would on a Lee 'best of'.
“Good graphics” were always lighting. Polygons are a myth. It doesn’t save graphics from being nothing more than a marketing gimmick, relevant only to advertisement and not the experience of play.
