If you ask me who the true King of Soul is, I’d say Otis Redding without hesitation. If only he got to live longer, there would be no doubt he would inherit that moniker concretely. It’s hard to believe he was only four years older than I am at this very moment when he passed, as so many artists across all genres of music owe a debt to his innovative style of soul and his incredible passion.
