"The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society" is another impressive and standout album in the field of 60's Pop Rock and Psychedelic Pop that can go toe to toe with their more well known contemporaries. This albums instrumentation, lyrics and whole atmosphere are very colourful and ooze character, each song has a quirk about them that I can't help but have fun and smile at, it's one of those albums where the charm all comes from the cartoony soundscapes and vibe. The Kinks you say... Hmmmm
Anyways, besides the name of the band, this was a weirdly wholesome and fun experience, sure, they may not be The Beach Boys in terms of Baroque Pop, but this album certainly has a nice relaxing, lush, and fun sound to it.
