The instrumentation in this album is amazing, but it falls short of making much of a lasting impact on me. Even returning to it I struggled to sit through some of the tracks I enjoyed on a first listen. It is a really solid 90's project, but I don't get much more from it currently.
The La's first a only studio effort before breaking up remains to this day to be one the catchiest and fun collection of songs from the 1980s. Though released in 1990, these are all songs that the band had been playing for years and years since their formation in the early 1980s. LA's is one of these bands that is known for only one song that is played again and again and again.... I usually hate these bands because they have nothing to offer except from their famous song, and usually I hate their famous song too, because you listen it in films, advertisings and music contests all the time and it is usually generic song to begin with.

It’s nothing ground-breaking, but also nothing short of great. It’s solid jangle pop with enough interesting textures to keep me entertained the whole time. The closer is fantastic I might add.
