"I stayed home on the fourth of July
-and I closed the shades so I didn'thave to see the sky."
How can a line be melodramatic and mirrored all the same? God, I love this.
this isn't the catchiest stuff they made, but it is really the most thoughtful work galaxie 500 ever released
This band have just the one sound - one that doesn’t sound as fresh as it did back in ‘89.
Really all their songs adhere to a similar framework - ok, some have longer instrumental sections. That’s it.
Still, their third and final album isn’t significantly weaker than what came before and it IS a great sound and a good ‘song’.
Me sitting passenger side of the Oscar Meyer Weenie Mobile Citca 1990. Wondering if there’s more to life.
"This is Galaxie 500"
Okay, this is definitely better than their debut, even if it dips in the second half. There's a couple songs on here I love like "Fourth of July" and "Spook" but overall, this is just a pleasant, somewhat melancholic album to vibe to. I'd recommend this one to any shoegaze or dream pop fan.
