MJ coming through with another alt country banger. I like how seamlessly he combines country with Math Rock on this one. The drums also have some nice punch and it’s quite groovy. I enjoyed boat songs to an extent, but this feels like an extension of those qualities in a more fleshed out artistic direction. Good!

Lyrics very Malkmusy---how many roads must a man walk down til he learns/he's just a jerk who flirts with the clergy nurse til it burns? But sung even more listlessly, like a third generation Kurt Vile on a slow Tuesday. I find him less convincing than these slacker deities. These guitars sound really nice though. They kind of have this "swaying" quality that just melts me for some reason. Maybe MJ will grow on me yet.
