The album that started it all: not only did Black Sabbath's debut self-titled album begin their long and successful career, it spawned a genre of its own. A genre that is now one of my favourites and without question my go-to. Metal.

Black Sabbath are hailed as the forefathers of Heavy Metal as they released their debut album in 1970 which marks 50 years of heavy metal and it’s insane to see how the sound of the genre has changed incredibly.

Things that I enjoyed about this record were the additions of very heavy instrumentation that was impactful and blood-pumping as Tony Iommi’s performance on the album is absolutely amazing and matches the chaotic energy on the record. Ozzy, as well, is a beast on his own ... read more
