For the most part, Sorcerer succeeds, moving their sound forward while maintaining their penchant for detours.

Loud and Quiet

Their words float elusively, adding all the more intrigue to their spaced-out sound. The attention of some may lull, but others will find these 35 minutes to be mesmerising.

Tiny Mix Tapes

Sorcerer is a concise distillation of Tonstartssbandht’s refreshing vision, a crystal ball portraying their intimate friendship, their cosmic noodling echoing deep into the nethersphere.

The Skinny

Sorcerer may not offer much in the way of straight-up pop thrills, and undoubtedly requires patience to truly appreciate its merits ... But whether avidly absorbing its every nuance or simply letting the whole thing wash over you, it’s an impressive statement of intent.

Tonstartssbandht's ‘Sorcerer’ takes three long and winding trips that fleetingly visit recognisable themes and motifs, but it ultimately feels underpowered owing to the lack of bass and deliberately sparse lo-fi production values.
