With the release of his fifth studio project – the largely self-produced, 12-track Rap Album Two – Jonwayne artist has given fans a long-awaited sequel of sorts, providing insight on his sobriety, his social struggles and the life of a man who fighting both himself and his surroundings.

‘Rap Album Two’ is a struggle ... So cheer him on. What the fuck else is there to do?

Rap Album Two very much lives up to its name as a meat-and-potatoes hip-hop LP.

Over a selection of predominantly low-key, off-center beats that are downcast yet subtly invigorating, ultimately functioning as comfort listening, Wayne offers verse after verse of plainspoken poeticism.

Rap Album Two is easily the most fulfilling project Jonwayne has ever made loaded with the most thoughtful writing of his career. It isn’t just the gravity of subjects, it’s the carefulness with which he’s willing to examine them.

The Needle Drop

With RA2, Jonwayne delivers a disheveled set of alternative hip hop tracks that have potent senses of humor and emotion.

white mf doom comparisons aside, jonwayne very clearly displays his talent in all areas as well as his ability to talk very intimately about darker and more sensitive topics whilst still keeping the song interesting to listen to.
Really love how personal a lot of this album feels. Two favorites definitely are Human Condition and Paper those two tracks specifically are really beautiful
Some worthy smoky old school vibes from the bearded bro I'm labelling the Hurley of hip hop.
The album where Jonwayne finally found his lane. It’s a experimental jazz rap album, filled with minimalistic beats that are extremely effective. Most of the album is both sonically and lyrically beautiful. It’s his most personal album to date, that’s what makes it really enjoyable, you get to know the artist and his personal struggles.

The song “Afraid of Us” is still one of my favourite tracks from the past decade.
La Habra, CA rapper/producer Jonwayne released one of 2017's hidden gems with Rap Album Two - his fifth studio album, following a short hiatus from the music industry to battle alcohol addiction. With Rap Album Two Jonwayne drops a poignant mix of thoughtful deeply personal rhymes - happy and sad - over gentle-sounding lo-fi beats crafted by himself. Rap Album Two is a super smooth listen, a future cult classic without a doubt.
