I think i figured this out, i belive all The Microphones albums that came out around 1999 and 2001 are connected somehow and every album that comes before The Glow Pt.2 is kind of like a prelude. It just feels weird to have so many track names and songs be recycled troughout the diffrent projects without it all being connected. Easily the most unnoticed and underrated body of work Phil has made under the 'Microphones' moniker. This album gets barely any attention, probably due to the fact that it has to compete with albums like the Glow pt. 2, Mount Eerie, and It Was Hot We Stayed in the Water. A very adventurous step forward for Phil, at times this album can be as distant as his music gets. But the heart is there all the same.
A classic for me, I'll be listening to this for years to come.
Exactly why we strive so hard to limit our introspection, delude ourselves, distort our world-views: anything else is death. The paradox of consciousness. From the moment of its birth it must be restrained: too much consciousness is fatal.

Fav Trak: Moon Moon Moon
This is like a fragmented version of Don't Wake Me Up with a handful of extra tracks and I somehow find it more enjoyable.
