GIGsoup
Dripping with imagination and vibrancy, ‘Off The Radar’ is an audacious, cohesive and enchanting sensorama from a fearless, original artist forging her own path, an eminently-replayable provocation for both head and heart that dives deep into new, curious directions and breathes fresh life into warped pop.

Its cohesion and crispness, its innovative approach, and perhaps most significantly the astuteness and clarity with which it engages in the frantic, threatening, vibrant world that surrounds Erez, Off the Radar is galvanizing.

The Skinny

For only being her debut, this is an incredibly accomplished record, which carves out a distinct sound that captures and captivates the listener. Noga Erez should really be on your radar.

Loud and Quiet

A debut record that’s not afraid of combining pure fun with heavy topics, despite the occasionally baffling lyrics.

This kind of playful confidence is Erez’s main stock in trade, and drives the album forward, entirely justifying the bombastic in-your-face pop production that features throughout.

Love the Lyrics overall. Political yet very personal.
Production is awesome.
Don't care for the Interludes.

My main Issue with the album is how a lot of the Tracks rely on having these Electronic Pop Drops as Hooks. It's something i rarely care for. "Toy" might be an exception to this. I just love how that Percussion makes my Head spin around the Stereo.

The Album cover is a big face. Quite dull if you ask me.

I was indecisive on how to grade this album. I really liked a lot of it, enough to buy it, but there were a lot of low points. Some of the songs are interludes. When I remove the five songs that were about ninety seconds or less (4, 6, 8, 11, and 14), the score goes up to an eight average. The fact that there was a ten song gained a half-point.

BEST – 2, 3, 5, 7, 10

01. Balkada – 7.5 – I like “Green screen, gray matter, white, white, white noise.”
02. Dance While ... read more

This album was hit or miss. There were certainly tracks I outright disliked, such as Muezzin, for example, but most tracks I liked, and the bright spots on this album are great, and Global Fear is the standout track to me. The interludes do absolutely nothing, but without them, I find this to be a deeper level of dance/electronic music, and I love when artists try to be original with genres that aren’t known for it. I would say that was accomplished here. The lyrics are...interesting. I ... read more
