Anticon's signature blend of absurdist humor and genuine poetics falls flatter than usual, in large part due to the tight and quick nature of the album. Nothing really breathes.
i enjoy quite a bit of the weird abstract rap to come out of the anticon family, but this is where i tap out.
in a track list of 12, well over half of these songs are interludes. what separates this from other interlude heavy albums like in the shadow of the living room or blindfold, is that these are mostly musicless. theres no beat in the background which makes their absurdist attempts at humour fall flatter than usual. the actual songs here are pretty decent, but i could easily listen to ... read more
