Wild Pink's debut is a highly restrained and deceptively laid-back effort. What appears to be a collection of vaguely cinematic but low-key indie rock songs reveals itself into a strikingly emotionally honest quarterlife manifesto. The lyrics are poignant and topical, encapsulating a good deal of angst about contemporary life and politics. Wild Pink doesn't command your attention, but it does reward it.
