Ok this is pretty edgy and unrefined but there's some charm to that. Shows that Mr. Smith was never your typical singer-songwriter to begin with.

This album was never supposed to be released believe it or not. He recorded these songs in a dark basement by himself. We wouldn't have had his career without his friends persisting him to show his talents, which leaves a bitter taste in my mouth know he may not have wanted any of the fame and reception he got. This album in particular feels so eerie and personally void I feel odd listening to it.

So far, I've loved all four of the Elliott Smith albums I've heard
But I just keep coming back to Roman Candle
I don't know why, there's just something about it... It's just

The overall vibe spoke to me. I just wished for a bit more push for me to consider it a favorite. Wonderfully done for a debut album.
