shit... this is going to be a really anticlimactic record
I loved every part of every other Slowdive album, but this just misses something unique
It’s more or less a repeat of the last three singles - dreamy and peaceful but not particularly impressive or memorable. The shoegaze icons appear to be about to release their most gentle, yet least impactful and almost dreariest album to date.
Although more enjoyable than the last single; the slab, Alife still feels unusually empty and void of feeling for a Slowdive track. With the album's full release in 2 days, I'm excited to see how this one fits into it all, and despite being underwhelmed with the record's material thus far, I still have hope that Slowdive can do something special with this album.

That's completely killed any hype I had for this hype, combined with the singles just being passable. Although I haven't listened to this one yet, but I'm guessing it will be more of the same
