Both a positive and a negative, there is clearly a theme to Elton John's music. The tracks have a similar structure and the mixture of rock and piano backing are consistent across records. Three records in, there is minimal variation among the artists music. This is not necessarily a bad thing (if it isn't broken don't fix it) but it doesn't leave much room to really see a huge improvement on the next few records looking forward.
