A fantastic first half with songs like Levon and Tiny Dancer which are at this point essential with Elton John's discography but the second half loses some steam and often doesn't stand out compared to the mentioned songs but at last this for me is still a great record with a lot of very good melodic piano pop rock.

'Madman Across the Water' is front-loaded by the invisible "Tiny Dancer" and then follows with a bunch of derivative Elton John tracks. Despite that, it's still well above average when compared to everyone else.
