Smoke Fairies come back to sobering reality on Carried In Sound from their almost 20 years-long fairy tale wandering.
Alt-folk duo Smoke Fairies, aka Katherine Blamire and Jessica Davies, release their sixth studio album, Carried in Sound, an album confronting the loss and grief of the intimate and challenging emotions that have on a person and those around them.
I only listened to this cause they are Fairies, and I as a Pixie support my kin in every way possible! I gathered with my fellow Pixies and Fairies in the magic forest and listened to this album!
And honestly I’m pleasantly surprised by this project! I had never heard of Smoke Fairies before, but I actually really enjoyed what they had to offer! Im glad the music of my kin is good!

Hymn-like songs in the vein of PJ Harvey without the intrigue. Relaxing tones and beautiful harmonies whilst still providing an ominous atmosphere. Suffers from lack of diversity and without repeat listens hard to decipher between tracks. It might be predictable but vocal performance is strong.
Fave track: Vague Ideas.
Sounds good. Very pretty instrumentals and strong vocals. Reminds me of Florence + The Machine at times.
