Easily their best album since turn of the 00’s, it seems as if Incubus have found form in tracks such as ‘Nimble Bastard’; ‘You are No Fun’; ‘Throw out the Map’; ‘Loneliest’ and ‘Undefeated’, but they aren’t breaking barriers with this release.

... you've got a pretty solid Incubus record in your hands, albeit one that won't win over any of the group's detractors.

Consequence of Sound

It’s not like stale arena bands traditionally recharge their songwriting 20 years on, but following a six-year sabbatical from full-lengths, it just seems like these particular alleged fun-havers would feel itchier to do something nutty.

A.V. Club

If 8 puts a little muscle back into the band’s sound, it lacks the constellation-sized hooks that made 2001’s Morning View a singles machine that kept on giving.

The Guardian

Brandon Boyd and boys’ eighth album continues a progression away from the breakdowns and record-scratches of their early years and towards something closer to stadium-baiting modern rock in the mould of, say, Train.

No Ripcord
With the exception of the die-hards, I imagine the fan base that the band built with their early work has finally lost interest with this effort. Incubus have un-made themselves.

Every song is so utterly devoid of energy, like they've released a record composed of the spaces between the notes in all their previous work.

There is no energy in this album whatsoever, and everything is so lazily compacted it's a wonder this album ever even saw the light of day. R.I.P to one of my favorite bands when I was younger.

Overall Opinion: I haven't liked this band since the early 2000s. I had zero expectations of enjoying this walking in to it and while the writing can induce cringe worthy sweats, it does ... read more

Una gran decepción aunque rescatable una o dos canciones muy buenas. aun así lo recomiendo escuchar para poder entenderlo, podría gustarle a un verdadero fan de incubus. a mi hasta cierto punto me gustó.

As the opening track of their eighth album declares, there is no fun, but, as we finally found out, there was no intention of fun from the very beginning.
