Bursting with social commentary that pushes the woke meter past ten, and beaming with an air of honesty, you can feel the love that Brother Ali puts into his music.

AllMusic

A record that never shies away from facing injustice but focuses on a different aspect of activism: inner transformation.

HipHopDX

With All the Beauty in This Whole Life, Brother Ali steadily tries to reach a place of zen despite life’s unavoidable chaos. Urgent and impactful as always, his heartfelt music succeeds at balancing out traditional drum programming with original music composition.

Pitchfork

All the Beauty in This Whole Life finds Ali rekindling his long-running collaboration with Atmosphere producer Ant, and together they’ve crafted a purposefully uplifting sound.

PopMatters

All the Beauty in This Whole Life is a solid album with words worth listening to and taking to heart. Brother Ali’s art is aging well, thanks to his fearlessness in allowing that art to mature along with him.

Favorite tracks: Dear Black Son, It Ain't Easy Uncle Usi Taught Me

Uncle Usi Taught Me is a unique story telling/political track that critically looks at both the US and Iran. Before They Called You White is a classic Brother Ali style political song, ... read more
