On CollXtion II, Allie X crafts a sort of dark pop sound that'll infatuate listeners of both DIY indie artists and the top 40 variety.

Slant Magazine

The album lacks a rousing anthem like CollXtion I’s “Sanctuary,” but the hooks come fast and furious.

NOW Magazine

CollXtion II marks a streamlining of her Top 40-friendly instincts, melding 80s pop and contemporary trends into a sharply refined sound.

The first six tracks made me think this album was gonna be great, but it takes a dump after those. She's starting to get more creative, though. Some of the time.

A lot of the bombast of the debut was lost on this project, but there are still quite a few great tracks.

"CollXtion II" was close to be perfect.

Allie X debuts a fantastic album, lies over a friendly and frisky arrangement on its highlights and a unrisky repetition on the lowlights. By some means, it is tasteful have to listen to this, owing to remains and slush over the novel pop scene.

► BEST TRACKS: "Paper Love", "Casanova", "Lifted", "Simon Says", "Downtown" and "True Love Is Violent"
► WORST TRACKS: "That's So Us"
