Veteran Irish folk artist Fionn Regan's most recent album gets off to a strong start, as all of the first four tracks pull off a lovely, low-key, very slightly experimental vibe, and are all at least a bit potent. Unfortunately, "The Meetings of the Waters" is ultimately let down by some not entirely sensical experimentation and poor pacing in its second half: "Babushka-Yai Ya" falls flat, and after a long string of short songs, the 12-minute long "Tsuneni Ai" ... read more
