TSOL is a special little album for me. I love its dreamy, aquatic atmosphere. I can easily envision it all taking place is the same location as the cover.

As a hardcore fan of Passion Pit, TSOL is a rewarding listen since this is easily his weirdest and most experimental record yet. The production can be quite odd and rough around the edges, diving into glitchy and ambient territories. Mixing is the only place where it falters. This is Angelakos's most experimental and serenely "free" album, and I think it's lovely. I only wish it was longer!

Should've been cut into a brief EP. There were very few solid tracks on this album, even with it being merely 36 minutes, and the good songs would have served fine on their own.
Your enjoyment of "Tremendous Sea of Love" will ride, at least in part, on whether you consider it to be Passion Pit LP4, or a collection of B-sides or lost recordings. It works better as the latter than the former; the song quality is inevitably uneven, but it succeeds in painting a portrait of the brain of Michael Angelakos, while producing a few songs worthy of "Manners" or "Gossamer."
