One of my favorite swan songs of all time. I cannot believe people were surprised that the band broke up after this release. Not just because of the subject matter in the songs (yes, it's palpable there too) but because of the growing gap of styles between Tweedy and Fararr. Seriously, I think it's astounding the poetry of "New Madrid" and the bluntness of "High Water" are even on the same record.
