I found this to be so generic. Like there's loads of artists that make this music but just better. Didn't connect to the songwriting and (not that she's necessarily a bad vocalist but) I found her voice to be a harsher listen when compared to others in the genre. Not necessarily a bad album, but definitely not a great one either

There are moments on ‘Weird Faith’ where the genuine sentiments and earnest nature of Madi’s lyricism sell its relatability, but the straightforward delivery of its themes and basic songwriting surrounding them don’t allow it to stand out otherwise. These choruses lack impact and consistently fall flat, and her vocal cadence often sounds unnatural.

I’m still rooting her moving forward, as her emotionally open, honest verses showcase a vulnerability that would ... read more

I love a good indie-folk-singer songwriter mix, so it really surprised me that I wasn’t feeling this album as much as I hoped. I’m not quite sure what it is as there’s elements here I really enjoy - built up choruses, emotive songwriting, melodic vocals. Somewhere down the ... read more

Quiet night listening to this album with headphones is really comfortable, a combination of folk and indie pop

Sonically, there is nothing wrong with this album. While it does not break any ground, it borders on an enjoyable little listen. But the lyrics on a lot of the songs are really cringy. "Girlfriend," for example could have been written by a 12-year-old (and not by someone who is almost 40). There are some big highlights though. "Don't Do Me Good" with a feature by Kacey Musgraves is a whole other level. It is almost like the other writer came in and said that she would ... read more

Listened this morning and loved it. One of the best alternative albums I’ve heard all year thus far. Best track: Don’t Do Me Good ft. Kacey Musgraves.

endearing singer-songwriter writes endearing singer-songwriter album. sorry but there were only a few songs that stood out to me. this album doesn't matter.

The singer-songwriter confessional style songs cut deep (most of the time), and the album is very open and vulnerable. Accompanied by a lovely guitar sound, I think this record is worth the listen, especially for indie-folk fans!

Decent, yet generic.

This sounded like a Kacey Musgraves album and then Musgraves appeared on the record. Unlike her last album, Madi just seems to lack ambition and energy on this. The instrumentals are so stripped back that it gets tedious by the time you get to the midpoint of the record.

I really enjoyed this album from Madi Diaz. I find her voice strong but calming, and think her lyricism is frequently beautiful. Diaz might be a little prone to cliche at times (like on Weird Faith) but I still think she’s a relatable and poignant songwriter.

Favs: Everything Almost, Don’t Do Me Good
Least Fav: Hurting You

It's sweet, it's nice, it's pretty fun at times, it's not very interesting. There's not much creativity and some songs felt so much longer due to the lack of variation. Really wanted this to end by the last few tracks, despite loving some of the songs.

Levanta en el tramo final con el feat de Kacey pero me había gustado mucho más su disco anterior. Esto bordea lo genérico y monótono de una manera imposible de obviar. Obsessive Thoughts quizás mi tema preferido del disco.

listening to this at night with headphones is the only right way to listen to this. i enjoyed this album, i do think that the songs dont really develop but the vocals and everything else makes up for it so im not gonna complain.
fav tracks: Same Risk, God Person and Obssessive Thoughts

It's somewhat boring folk. Picks up from Kacey Musgraves's feature to save you from being a total failure. Pretty one dimensional. Not much worth talking about.

There are some nice tracks here ("Everything Almost" and "Kiss The Wall" as examples) but when it flops, it FLOPS. A singer-songwriter needs either interesting musical quality or good lyrics. Diaz has neither. The songs sound like any other indie folk song and the lyrics are sometimes laughably bad ("I wanna kill, f##k, marry you forever"??????).

Best Tracks: "Everything Almost" and ... read more

the last track to this album is so beautiful, the rest feel like interpolations of that success. it's nothing out of this world, its a general nice listen throughout, with lyrics often being generic and cliche, but some standing out. not much else to say besties xxx

This album is so so so boring, it feels like a frankenstein of every female indie and pop darling over the past 4 years but just worse and I'd rather just go listen to them, not bad by any means just not engaging since i've already heard this a billion times

Bit generic/safe but enjoyable regardless. Would’ve liked to see more a experimental approach.
