A long time coming, ‘Heaven knows’ is a debut album that was well worth the wait from PinkPantheress, and a sign of a promising career from the singer.
Even as PinkPantheress explores her deepest, darkest emotions, her songs are vibrant, hook-filled, and wildly inventive, making Heaven Knows just as worthy of repeated listens as To Hell with It, and confirming her status as a pop visionary.
PinkPantheress levels up with the ultra-digital pop of Heaven knows.
Maybe it’s her everything-up-for-grabs approach to production, her algorithm-hijacking origin story or her notorious reputation of quiet quitting. But PinkPantheress doesn’t want to be an icon for the generation.
Heaven knows may not creatively propel PinkPantheress to new heights, but it’s a poetic and dramatic compilation of breakup songs that will leave a listener dancing around their living room while yearning for their toxic ex.
Heaven Knows needed to move beyond PinkPantheress’s TikTok formula to break new ground, but is still stuck in the sounds of the past.
There’s enough variety here to make Heaven Knows feel less like the flimsy musical popcorn of her past work, and most importantly, she continues to write tunes that stick.

Music has never felt more expendable than it currently does in the age of TikTok. Most of the artists who have been able to establish a small, cultish fanbase off of TikTok's popularity have found it difficult to turn their short-lived moment of fame into long-term success. Do me a favor; look up “biggest TikTok hits of 2021” and tell me how many of those names you recognize. Aside from those artists who achieved stardom through their own merits before TikTok was seen as the easiest ... read more
Passeando entre o alt-pop, R&B, eletrônico, drum and bass, 2Step e uk ... read more
