The Needle Drop

Contemporary flamenco artist Rosalía makes her stunning full-length debut.

It's obvious that Rosalía has an amazingly beautiful voice, and is a great flamenco artist overall, but i personally prefer her more poppy side that she shows on future records like El Mal Querer.

I find that her voice fits more the artificially made beats on El Mal than the acoustic guitar beats that are found all over Los Angeles. I prefer the more fun songs like Malamente than the more long-winded songs like Si Tù Supieras Compañero.

A sparse album with a fantastic voice, The instrumentation on here can be a little underwhelming but Rosalía's voice really does carry this album.

Best Track: Si Tú Supieras Compañero
Worst Track: El Redentor
FRosalía has a gift that needs to be reproduced. the personality in her voice is undeniable, and the seduction in her songs is recognizable from wherever you may listen to her music
Vocal-wise, this is the greatest album I've heard in a very long time. Rosalia pays homage to some of the greatest Spanish folk music ever made and her matched up with Raul Refree is a match made in heaven. I went into this album without hearing anything beforehand, and it was one of the most mind-blowing experiences I've ever had.
Everyone needs to listen to this for the vocal performances alone. The Hispanic equivalent to In Rainbows, hypnotizing, moody, beautiful.
