One of the best country albums of the year, and also one of the prettiest albums in general. Ashley Monroe has an undeniably beautiful voice, and the traditional-leaning arrangements here bring out the expressiveness of her performances and the nuance of her songwriting. Agreed that it could have gone on another track or two, but everything here is great. The duet at the end is the best Blake Shelton has ever sounded.
9 tracks. No album fillers. No mistakes.
Ashley Monroe has one of the most comforting voices in country. Her songwriting is also top notch. Like a Rose is some kind of something, too. It's 9 tracks and only 31 minutes of almost perfect country. My only complaint is the length, which feels too short to really soak up the beauty of the record. It's a great length for quick, rapturous listens though, so that's no real complaint. Cheers, Ashley. You've crafted a great piece of work.
