A.V. Club

With this new record, Steiner and her bandmates have grown into a more confident beast, one that seeks and achieves if not greatness, then something awfully close.

DIY

Inventive, rough-edged, and darkly witty at times, their second record is thoughtful, tender, and incisive at every turn.

GIGsoup
The group builds upon their 2015 debut (‘AOID’) with superior lyricism and additional musical textures while presenting a delectable “more-country-than-country” sound.

Northern Transmissions

Ratboys may have created an album that’s a true depiction of life; it’s slightly bruised and vulnerable but open to love and compassion.

Exclaim!

The Chicago-based group's sophomore album is an exercise in intimate storytelling, dabbling in both whimsical and sombre themes.

Under The Radar

An angsty slice of indie-rock that nods knowingly to the levity of misadventure.

Overall Opinion: So I rated this a 74 after my first listen. I did my due diligence and returned to the album 3-5 more times and I take back MOST of what I said about it. I stated that the B side was completely forgettable. While that isn't a longshot ... read more
