MGK’s latest album, bloom, finds him largely shedding the ways of his youth in favor of thoughtful musings over sophisticated production.
The rapper finds his footing with bloom, an album that showcases his varied skill set and taps into the dimension of the artist he has the tools to become.
Bloom feels less like the work of a persona than an authentic attempt at sorting out a sometimes messy life—far from perfect, yet perfectly compelling.
While Bloom isn't as thrilling as his debut Lace Up, fans of 2015's General Admission will appreciate the familiar blend of pop-savvy rap and the occasional guitar riff.
Okay this album was bad but it was better than I expected. It is EXTREMELY basic and very very corny. But it has 3 songs that are really good! But “Go For Broke” and “Can’t Walk” are HELLLLLLLL
Best Song: Golden God (Best Aspect: The drums and occasional piano rolls)
Similar to my review on el diablo, used to like the guy but still like this album. Good attempt on a pop music scene that was at it's prime at the time.
Favorite songs: Let you go, bad things
There is some good to be found on this album, but a lot more bad. If you're unsure about if this album is for you, give "27" a listen, and if you don't like it, then this album is probably a skip
