This album is fine and actually pretty catchy at times. It's a low-stakes sun-drenched disco record, so don't expect anything profound. Mars' lyricism is still a facepalm, but there isn't really a bad song here and I think the project as a whole was solid and enjoyable.

Euro techno pop contemporaries to both Daft Punk and Air, France’s Phoenix, fronted by none other than Mr. Sophia Coppola himself (Thomas Mars), successfully manage to channel their favorite Pet Shop Boys throughout Ti Amo, the forty somethings sixth album in a recording career spanning some 20 odd years. 36 minutes of backward looking early ‘90’s EDM pop, as pleasant as it is impermanent. Phoneix's "Ti Amo" is a glossy, synth-heavy pop record made for dark times. It's a little burst of escapism that doesn't ask for much. Although these descriptors sound nice, they also represent the album's shortcomings. For "Ti Amo" lacks any sense of urgency, energy, or creativity.

The record as a whole is enjoyable. "J-Boy" and "Role Model" bounce along nicely and capture summer's shimmering sunlight. "Lovelife" evokes romantic late evening ... read more

Great album, has some nostalgic vibe and honestly it's my feel good album, probably my fave from Phoenix.

'Ti Amo' es un elepé más que regular que contiene canciones que entretienen y que no pecan de ser planas.

Canciones Favoritas: Tittifrutti, Fior di Latte, Lovelife, Role Model.

Ti Amo is the band's most "fun" outing to date, but it's also inoffensive to a fault, none of the songs really making much of an impression beyond the momentary enjoyment you get while listening to it.

Well, it isn't their most flattering record but it has some nice touches of indie pop and indietronic flashes. I like how the album is pretty consistent in sticking to a sound and not just going everywhere but at the same time that's the main flaw with Ti Amo, it gets pretty boring at the middle. It seems like the joke was burned. The lyrics are clearly weak, they don't go anywhere interesting, they feel pretty rushed, like they didn't even edited them. Mars' vocals are okay, they keep that ... read more

And Phoenix maintain their string of solid albums with another great one. 'Ti Amo' partly takes the same road of it's predecessor, about fantasized scenarios, this time with a very romantic, 1970-something, view of Italy and southern France. Created around dark times, 'Ti Amo' is an excellent escape route for the dreaming ones.

Best track(s): Tuttifrutti, Ti Amo, J-Boy, Fleur de Lys, Telefono

Since releasing 2009’s ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’, the French indie pop band seemingly changed their musical direction, swapping their Strokes-esque guitar riffs for glitzy sugary synths that they embraced in the follow up ‘Bankrupt’. A move that romanticized Phoenix’s previously playful bouncy guitar lines into a more mature and adult synth pop approach. ‘Ti Amo’ is a firm reminder that Phoenix are not likely to release another ‘Wolfgang ... read more

Perfectly competent and fun synthpop album released exactly at the right time to show up on summer playlists, but I almost wish Phoenix would waver from their niche a bit more. A move towards somewhat disco-ish sounds is as safe as it gets for a popular indie band these days, and Phoenix don’t quite keep up the song-to-song consistency of Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix; as a result, it’s a bit more of a singles’ album than a great full statement.

Phoenix dips their sound into Italian disco and creates a lush, exciting record. It's the Phoenix you know and love layered into a complex, engrossing mix of songs.

Favorite tracks: Ti Amo, Tuttifrutti, Fior Di Latte, Fleur De Lys

The rather consistent French pop group's first album in 4 years is where they prove that they are aging as a band. Phoenix has made some of the most groovy pop songs of the 2000's, and they show that they can still do it on Ti Amo. However, they prove that it's about all they can do, and the project loses steam early into it.

Ugh. Phoenix. What happened? This sounds like cheesy, 80s boy-band shit.

Whether you like this album or not, Phoenix needed to make this and be appreciated for this outstanding new release of theirs. Perhaps one of most danceable EDM oriented albums, but not for the worse in any respect.
