John Fogerty’s guests on Wrote A Song for Everyone may provide a pupu platter of genres, but the country/rock/progressive duet partners more often serve as a reminder of Fogerty’s singular potency.

With a songwriter of Fogerty’s calibre, you want him to keep going. Wrote a Song for Everyone certainly convinced me that he has, but more than that, it made me eager to hear him continue to do the same.

Consequence of Sound

It’s an ambitious collection with its moments of excess, but overall the roots veteran pulls it off.

All of this is enjoyable but it's rarely compelling, as very few songs play with the original arrangement in any serious fashion
