While Madvillainy feels like a comic book this one feels like I'm at a dive bar on slam poetry night. The bar smells of sawdust and is dimly lit. All the tables have a candle on them and the barkeep is bald and gruff. The tables all face the stage at the back of the room, and a hooded figure walks up to the microphone. He starts saying his poem. It's about death and destruction and other edgy things.

I thought it was MF DOOM before, then thought it was someone else, got really confused, went to this site, and then realized it is MF DOOM. Ok.
I have never been a huge DOOM fan, but I gave this a chance. Glad I did. Really fantastic album front to back. I can’t add a lot that other people haven’t said better. It’s overall just really solid
EDIT: Open Mic Nite pt. 2 and A Dead Mouse grew off me a lil bit, still a powerhouse of an album. And still my fav DOOM

Vaudeville Villain is probably MF Doom's darkest release yet, and it's still just as good as everything else I've heard from him. I can't say that I love this as much as most people here do, but it's still a great outing nonetheless.

Doom's lyrics and performance is easily one of the best I've heard from him yet. His flows here are definitely what really makes this album stand out as one of his best works yet and really elevated a lot of these songs to the point where I fell in love with them. ... read more
