The centrepiece of the album ... is the impressive “Solitary Daughter” ... It’s the standout track on an album heralding a talent as intriguingly fully-formed and distinctive, in its own way, as Marling, Mitchell and Bush.

Under The Radar

Neither a wasted note nor a moment of excess can be found on Bedouine. And in a time of gross artistic pretentions, it bares none of those things.

There is something so comforting about these songs – it’s like tuning into a lost radio station from the 70s, rich in nostalgia, innocence and the warmth of old analog instruments. One of the most understated and charming albums of the year.

‘Bedouine’ is a debut that signposts good things to come but, perhaps more importantly, it still has plenty to offer in its own right. It’s a well written, compellingly honest album and one that deserves the attention of all those willing to give it time.

The sound of the record is exquisite, breezing through about 40 minutes with an effortless charm.

Bedouine's (Azniv Korkejian) debut is a delight, drifting with the warmth and ease of a summer day and lightly hued with nostalgia.

Really the instruments in here are very harmonized together and smooth and make you feel comfort and happy, her voice too is very good and she performed very well in here, the songs are well written and she gonna have a good future if she continuous with the same level. One of my fav. folk albums of this year. Awesome.

Bedouine presents more of a homey, yet otherworldly sound all delivered with a comforting, alto voice. I find her music to be peaceful and introspective in the best way. The type of music that you listen to alone, in a bedroom while doing a quiet activity. I love how introverted and reflective this album is. She embraces solitude and nature in "Solitary Daughter" while using a redemptive ... read more

Spacebomb is on a roll. The consistently aesthetically effective band suits Bedouine's sound and attitude perfectly. Her wide-eyed yet calm demeanor, combined with lush and rich acoustic soundscapes, makes her debut sound like a long-lost 40-year-old gem, complete with lyrics that could be cheesy or schmaltzy if they weren't delivered with so nicely. It's the sort of album that can be described as pleasant without that being a backhanded compliment. And there cannot be enough praise showered on ... read more
