The Skinny
US composer Kali Malone returns with an album that seeks to wrest devotional music from its religious connotations.

Loud and Quiet

It makes for Malone’s least extreme and most welcoming album yet. Despite a potentially daunting 78-minute runtime, All Life Long is a surprisingly easy listen: inviting, contemplative and sonically rich, the sound of complexity unpacked for all to understand.

The Guardian
Returning to the organ-playing that made her name and adding brass and vocals, the Thom Yorke-approved composer revels in the possibilities of her instruments.

Uncut

Pipe dreams: durational pieces for choir, brass and organ.

Mojo
Her ability to dominate a room with minimal musical movement is astonishing; this record lowers the temperature, heightens the sense, slows down life, frame by frame.

The Observer
The Stockholm-based drone artist adds choral voices to her austere organ sounds on her startling, often sorrowful sixth album.

Spectrum Culture
On another strong record from Malone, organs and brass do not obfuscate, but clarify, her intentions, and clearly, she has delivered on hers: to make music that drones, haunts, and consoles in all the best ways.

Beats Per Minute
At times, Maloneโ€™s โ€œmagic eyeโ€ seems elusive. Other times, it comes gloriously into focus, shimmering like an elegant mirage.

Grand and ornate choral minimalism that reaches into the barren and retrieves light.

Kali Malone is someone I've really been missing out on after her sprawling opus that was 2023's, "Does Spring Hide Its Joy," a three-hour journey through tightly woven minimalist drone. This time around, her classical influences spread their wings with pieces attributed towards vocal, brass, and organ arrangements. Tracks like the opening, "Passage Through The Spheres" feel formless and ... read more

Cool album, don't see myself coming back though.

A powerful project of Holy Minimalism, mainly for old organs, but also choral and on brass. Several compositions give me shivers.
