gotta say I was fairly disappointed that this wasn't as good as his debut; still a solid hip-hop record though.

I understand why the public consensus is underwhelmed by this release. The biggest songs on this thing are uniformly bad. You've got the underwhelming "Always Be My Sunshine" (with Foxy Brown), a boom-bap-y track that sounds like a throwaway from Reasonable Doubt. Vol. 1 meets between the commercial success of Vol. 2 and the lyrical focus of Reasonable Doubt.
