Good Mourning is the handsome if dark-eyed offspring of the deliberately melodic From Here to Infirmary LP and Alkaline Trio's more raucous earlier work.
Good Mourning is where things got tricky for old school Alkaline Trio fans. It's the last straw where the die hards could convince themselves they were still down with the direction the Trio was going in.
On Good Mourning, the band's fourth album, there's enough mayhem and murder to satisfy any Scarface groupie.
Good Mourning brings the Trio's worst points to the front, and at the mic, Matt Skiba now sounds like the biggest asshole ever.
This is my favorite record of all time.
Pretty big claim for an album that most people could probably point out some pretty obvious flaws on. However, for me, this album is an album that aligns PERFECTLY with my personal taste in music. 1. This Could Be Love; Why, that's a little K I N K Y. Dear god if it isn't catchy tho. Also, is this the same guy who sang songs like Private Eye on the last record? Dear god I hope his voice is ok... he sounds pretty raspy. +10 points for unironically using the word "shat" in a song though. 9/10, What a riff!
