Along Came Joyner was an impressive debut, and showed his prowess for storytelling / conceptual songs, but 'I'm Not Racist' and a few others since have fallen into major cliche territory, which is often the case when rappers try to get too conceptually ambitious with their lyrics.
This is my first time hearing joyner lucas album front to back even though he said it was a mixtape, this feels more like an album to me. Let me first state that i appreciate and admire his rapping abilities and the way he tells stories through his rapping lyrics and this is where i stop with that. I can't see myself revisiting this record at all not because of how impact-ful it is, but how i heard this all before and done better.
