It's a pretty standard affair in terms of the production, which is pretty banging overall. But it's the brothers themselves that take this project higher. They're legitimately entertaining to listen to, and the language barrier isn't a problem for me at all. I quite like their flow, going from really hard and aggressive to more laid back and soulful. There's enough variety on this for you to not get bored, but there's nothing about Black Cab that makes me want to return to it immediately.
Black Cab and Made in China are mind blowingly dope for fresh ears, and for me, bumped on the regular.
Thankfully, they aren't the only good tracks. They're all instantly accessible to casual trap fans and avid listeners. While sometimes their English bars are corny, thats to be understood, and still very much respected to hear them rapping in Chinese and their second language on each track here and there. Being one of the hip hop acts from Asia that is getting a lot of buzz right now, Higher Brothers are something new for the rap scene in the USA. There's a bit of an eastern flavor added to the basic trap sound, and it adds in a bit of unique character. At the end of the day, it is just basic trap performed by Chinese rappers, but it's a breath of fresh air compared to most of the watered down stuff found on Soundcloud daily.
