Hot Rats still sizzles; few albums originating on the rock side of jazz-rock fusion flowed so freely between both sides of the equation, or achieved such unwavering excitement and energy.

'Hot Rats' is possibly one of Zappas most charismatic, fun and eclectic collection of tracks thus far. The six songs on here have a great mix of excellent jazz fusion and jazz rock compositions that have the Zappa touch despite it being mostly instrumental. Personally I prefer the first half way more than the second but every track on this album is pure quality and a welcomed edition to Zappas catalogue and my playlist.... if only it was available on Spotify in Ireland.
Sorry guys, no more good Craigold reviews 🤷‍♂️ You all had your chance to laugh funny haha, but I think I'm just gonna settle for the lowest common denominator of comedy, and just write sex reviews. You all seem to love those, so I'm willing to pour out all of my dignity, and just write sex. More sex, everybody! Come get it here! Free sex! Remember the good old Craigold? I have finally reached another milestone: 5OO ratings! To celebrate this momentous number, I listened to one of Jazz' greatest accomplishments, Hot Rats. I was expecting more vocals on here, but the incredible instrumentation more than made up for my slight disappointment. ... read more

“HELLO” He saids in a little squeaky voice like a baby, yet still sounds deep at the time

“Sorry, but who the heck are you?” Andre says confused ... read more
It's taken me a really long time to come around to love this album, but I think it's finally happened...

Despite how improvised a lot of the album is, there's an incredible sense of grandeur when it comes to both the improvised playing and the composed sections. I'm blown-away by how cohesive this is, and I can't wait to get into more Zappa like this!
