Jungle Rules is full of summer vibes, and makes a perfect addition to not only Frenchie's catalogue but any summer playlist — which is to say it was worth the wait.

HipHopDX

What hampers Montana the most on Jungle Rules are the album’s most compelling features — the actual features. While his ear for strong cameos remains a key ingredient to his success, it’s also taking away from his artistry.

Pitchfork

He has evolved quite a bit since Excuse My French, coming up with moments of sharpness, but he is still limited in what he can do. His music flattens the showy life he lives. If there’s a case to be made for his vibrance, it isn’t this.

60
AllMusic

With enough highlights that could constitute a tighter and more effective track list, Jungle Rules suffers from lengthy playlist aspirations and not enough focus.

Clash
An album packed with tracks made to shake clubs across the globe, as well as a guest feature list that would make almost every rapper jealous; French’s flow and character may be the same as his previous works, but his stature within the rap world has rocketed.

XXL

A celebratory affair, Jungle Rules is an album rooted in progression, with French Montana detailing the perks of his life of luxury and injecting his carefree brand of bravado over expansive soundscapes that run the gamut from blustering boom-bap to more melodic backdrops.

AVERAGE

This is nowhere near the worst pop-rap album I've ever heard. Hell, there were worse albums released in the same month as Jungle Rules. I get why people would despise this, but I just don't see a reason for ME to hate it. I wouldn't come back to it often, but there are some fun tracks here and there.

On Jungle Rules, French Montana delivers terrible rapping over forgettable beats.
