I think the front half of this record is significantly stronger than the second half and that's mainly due to the fact that some of these songs do start to incorporate many other players. Maybe it's not the fairest critique but to me, it sort of ruins the continuity of the album a bit when it should mainly be focused on Coltrane performing with Monk. Other than that, it's a solid record but definitely not among the best of what both of these artists have done.
