That's right, ladies and gentlemen, it's a Tame Impala rush!

Tame Impala's self-titled EP is actually pretty impressive for their first (or second) project. On this EP they go for a 60's psychedelic rock sound, very much reminiscent of the Beatles when they were transitioning into their psychedelic sound. On Tame Impala's debut EP, you can see this Beatles-inspired band being... the Beatles. That's not as bad as it sounds, though. While the sound isn't as clean cut as their later works, they at least go for some intriguing, psychedelic 60's sounds here with Kevin Parker doing his best Lennon impression. Couple of mixing issues here and there but other than that it's a very enjoyable and solid EP

It's interesting to hear how much Tame Impala's sound has changed since this release. This is definitely much more inspired from classic rock, specifically bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones, than their current music. I prefer their current sound to this, but this still has its charm.
