Trivium has basically become a meme at this point, with what seems like their material just getting progressive worse with each release. Each album sounding more uninspired and boring than the last for nearly a decade. The Sin and the Sentence is pretty much Matt Heafy doing a fan service. Tracks are very well developed (some would argue a touch too polished). The title track Sin and the Sentence is a classic Trivium track. The Heart from your Hate and Other Worlds skew more towards the melodic side seen in the Silence in the Snow album, but both are great tracks. Very deep and well developed album. Just missing a little of the driving riffs that made In Waves such a great metal album.
