Drowned in Sound

The world in which Daughter's soundtrack inhabits here, is one which thrives off sentimentality. Rather than going to rot in the folds of a sixth-former's bedsheets, the Life Is Strange world positively reinforces the band's sound.

The Line of Best Fit

As an entire work, Music from Before the Storm is a soundtrack that succeeds in encapsulating a great vastness and emotional depth while retaining a clear sonic aesthetic.

Sometimes delicate, sometimes angry, always gorgeous - as is to be expected from Daughter.

I kinda like this, but wouldn't really revisit this one again.
All the beautiful tracks were good. Vocals were great. I didn't like the drums, because most of the time it was too simple. Most of the shorter tracks were just too simplistic to me. Not enough atmosphere and not organic sounding. Left me cold for some reason.
the music stands on its own. an added bonus that it's a soundtrack, but you don't need to know the source material to find this album captivating and moving, all on its own.
really good
